Where Does Your Turf Come From?

Our synthetic grass is manufactured in the USA. Southwest Greens, part of Shaw Industries, a Berkshire Hathaway company, and all our turf fibers are extruded and tufted in Shaw’s American factories. The advanced production lines use automation, Lean/Six Sigma quality controls, and in-house labs to hit industry-leading performance standards. When you book to install artificial turf with Southwest Greens, you can be confident that you’re installing long-lasting, American-made grass.
American Manufacturing: We use Shaw’s U.S. plants (ours is in Dalton, GA) for turf production. Thanks to Shaw’s innovations, our fibers stay consistent and durable.
Vertical Quality Control: As part of Shaw, Southwest Greens manages every step of the supply chain. That helps us deliver even quality and color across every roll, rapid support for warranty concerns, and detailed traceability for faster issue resolution.
Rigorously Tested: Before any turf arrives, it’s verified by Shaw’s laboratory and field evaluations. We use a 13,000 sq. ft. sports science lab and over 18,000 sq. ft. of outdoor test plots to mimic extended real-world conditions. Blades are tested for colorfastness, durability, and ball/athlete interactions, so your lawn or putting green looks and performs like real grass without wilting or fading.
CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION
We continually refine our turf to be even more realistic and resilient. Some of our latest innovations include:
Bolt™ Fiber (High-Performance: The patented Bolt cross-section gives our turf its edge. It stands taller and springs back better than ordinary turf, doubling industry durability ratings. Its unique shape and curved angles reduce shininess, giving the yard a true-grass sheen.
HydroChill® Cooling: We offer cooling infill that reduces turf temperatures by 30–50°F. This passive cooling system is ideal for hot climates and full-sun areas, keeping temperatures pleasant for outdoor comfort.
Pet-Friendly Drainage: Our pet turf products are designed for rapid waste removal and odor resistance. Pets can play without ruining your yard. And the way our artificial grass naturally sheds pet waste makes dead spots and odors a thing of the past.
Creaturf™ Personalization: Want your turf to show off your identity? Our Creaturf™ program lets you personalize turf with logos, patterns, or custom colors. From branded backyard putting greens to distinctive pet turf, this capability lets you design without limits.
PERSONALIZED TO YOU
We consult with designers, golf pros, and customers to ensure our artificial turf meets real needs. Feedback from golfers inspired us to develop a realistic “spring green” color that matches natural grass perfectly. Little details like this help our turf lead in Flagstaff residential and commercial spaces.
We also create specialized systems tailored to any environment — backyard putting greens, golf courses, pet areas, playgrounds, commercial lawns, game courts.
We take fake grass installation seriously. It’s an art when done right. Our synthetic turf is engineered so the ball rolls and bounces exactly like on tour-quality greens. That’s why the pros like Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sörenstam choose our turf. And because Shaw’s backing enhances our customization power, we can tweak anything — from pile height to infill — to fit your project.
LOOKING AHEAD: 2026 AND BEYOND
We never stop innovating at Southwest Greens. Watch for major turf releases in 2026! Shaw Sports Turf revealed that fans will help to decide new field designs and that a patented “Game ON” synthetic turf (made in Calhoun, GA) will hit the market in 2026.
This playful spirit and technology will make their way to landscaping products soon. We can’t share all the info now, but rest assured, our R&D team is working hard on the next generation of artificial grass.
Upcoming releases will blend innovation and customer insight, so your next Southwest Greens lawn or putting green will be better than ever.
